We are house hunting.
We just put an offer on a house.
Here are a few specs.
3 bedrooms - 1.5 baths - hardwood floors under the carpet - 2 car garage - 1500+ square footage upstairs - "unfinished" basement - .469 acres
When looking at the back patio I've marked a crack in the retaining wall. Dad, let me know what you think.....since you're the only one contributing to this blog.

The crack looks to be in the planter? Might have had water in it before a freeze. The repair should not be all that difficult.
Might need to dig it all out and make sure there is adequate drainage.
On second look it looks like the wall is just there? Can you remove it?
What is it there for?

Hey that crack goes through the foundation. Do not buy that house.
this house turned out to be a real lemon. Real problems, health and electrical. Loose uncapped wires, asbestos everywhere, cracked foundation, bad porch and concrete in the back, original furnace, cracking plaster, major mold problems, flooding issues. Other than those $45K worth of fixes its a great buy. Nice backyard. I suppose it would have to be because you'd live out there.
